Match report

A glorious sunny day at Bradwood park had Stirling Districts Blue playing the Hahndorf Magpies. The first half of the game was fast and fiercely competitive. The teams were evenly matched and players were sticking to their opponents like glue.  

Hahndorf's Stefan Panich and James Austin started off in attack and combined well for a few early shots at goal. The strong midfield of Julian Hack, Orland Rettig and Damon Martin fought hard to keep the ball moving to Stefan and James. Stirling scored the first goal and then James Austin scored a magnificent goal for the Magpies to even the score. 

William Whiting, Matthew Knight, Konrad Micheal, Elwin Aylen and Gabe Aylen alternated throughout the game in defence. There was an outstanding header from Knight and Michael demonstrated some sensational long kicks. Aylen and Aylen were always in the right spot at the right time providing strong play. Whiting continued to chase down the fast Stirling players.

Angus McCrone, Oliver Aylen and Hamish Robinson provided great skills to the game and all players worked well together. Harry Williams played for the first time in goals and was impressive and stopped many Stirling goals.

The half time score was one all.

Stirling came out strongly in the second half of the game and put Hahndorf on the back foot. Hahndorf held them off for the first 12 minutes but then Stirling scored 3 goals withing about 10 minutes to take a strong lead. Hahndorf players showed fatigue in the hot midday sun and Stirling went on win the game 5 goals to Hahndorf 1.
