Match report

The game started with Hahndorf only having 10 on the park. Stirling began their attack early with Tom Boekel making a great save. Toby Thomas and Rhys Davies combined quickly with some good forward thrust, but to no avail. The match was goalless for the first 15 minutes with Hahndorf feeling the pressure of being one man down. Despite a strong defence from Nick Brown and Zara Tinsley-Smith, Stirling shot 2 goals in quick succession. Gabe Aylen was busy across the backline yet Stirling continued their attack, finishing the first half 4 – 0 up.

Mitch Stribley came in for the second half after Tinsley-Smith had to come off briefly due to a high hit from the ball; however she made a quick recovery and was back on after a short break. Oscar Johnson was busy through the centre; Charlie Zorkovic and Lewis Johnson were also getting in on the action. Thomas and Davies continued to get in on the action however Stirling lifted their game even further and were now up 6 – 0 despite many brave saves from Boekel who was getting a solid workout in goals.

Tinsley-Smith scored late in the match with a brilliant kick 25 m out on the boundary line which sailed past their goalie. A good headed goal to Stirling made it 7 – 1 but Tinsley-Smith hadn’t finished her game yet! A great cross from Thomas to Tinsley-Smith saw her score a second goal for Hahndorf making the final score 7- 2.

A good, fair game was played by both sides along with great work from the Refs & lines people.
