Match report
The morning was fine and sunny for Hahndorf’s U11’s match against Stirling Districts. Despite being the first game after the holiday break, both teams were fast back into the thick of the action. Archie Green started off Hahndorf’s fine form with the strong attacking play continually pushing the ball back into Hahndorf’s half. It wasn’t long before Danny Morgan came into view, insistently keeping on the ball to quickly score Hahndorf’s first goal early on. Despite Hahndorf’s good plays Stirling kept the heat on, showing great ball skills. However Henley Crook in goals for Hahndorf was in fine form keeping the ball from going into the net with help from Joshua Blain who displayed his strong defence skills. Thomas Gould continued his good form of the season, surprising Stirling to quickly score Hahndorf’s second goal. The thrilling match rolled on, spectacular play by Nicolas Moran landed a superb goal for Hahndorf. Pearl Beesley finished off the first half strong, displaying great ball skills for Hahndorf keeping the pressure on. Fantastic viewing continued for the spectators in the second half, despite no subs for Hahndorf, no tiring of the players could be seen. Mason Saywell continued to showcase his great footwork skills from the first half, continually drawing the ball away from the opposing players in the middle of the pitch allowing the ball to end up closer to the goals. Stirling couldn’t be kept at bay in the second half, and despite solid defence play by Archie Keogh they scored 2 goals in quick succession. The great team work continued however from the Hahndorf crew, which led to Nicolas scoring yet another stylish goal. A fantastic game overall, well played by both teams. All players should be congratulated on a superb match of soccer!
