Round 3 Strathalbyn Vs Woodside u9

Round 3 and we had just scraped together 7 players with one out not feeling well and one gallivanting overseas, this meant that all players were going to have to contribute to keep Woodside in the hunt for another victory. 

The weather was looking a little ominous with rain on the horizon, and wind blowing strongly down the pitch. 

Game had started with Woodside playing into the wind. We had started well early pushing deep into the forward line, but unable to score as Strathalbyns goalie was on song.

As the half progressed Woodside began to fall out of position and ended up leaving the defence wide open with only one defender left. Strath turned the soccer ball over and a fast run into their attack bang the ball has hit the post and noooooo it had scraped in across the line. An unstoppable goal for the Woodside Goalie. 

First Half was over and some half time pep talk was required.

we talked about holding our position and passing the ball to our players and playing as a team. Also we had some boots come into play and the wind was now in our favour. 

1 minute into the second half GOAL !!!! scores were level 3 minutes in GOAL !!!! we were now in front 7 minutes GOAL !!!! We now had some breathing space. Who would have thoughtit, but holding space was working and we were becoming very hard to stop . 2 more goals were scored and one of which was a players first ever goal super proud of his efforts. The game really turned into a different match in the second half as we really used each other and played our parts by passing and using space.
