Match report

The Hahndorf Under 8’s soccer team put on a strong effort against Bridgewater on Saturday morning.

It was a crisp overcast morning in Hahndorf, making for perfect game conditions.  Hahndorf kicked off, Hamish Glynn and Jasper Christou were quick to let the opposition know they meant business by persistently working the ball towards and into the Bridgewater frontline.

Hugo Dahmke and Michael Griggs kept the pressure on the Bridgewater back line by manoeuvring the ball swiftly between them. Taking the ball from the half way mark up and into position for Hugo to take a shot at goals. The powerful kick was too much for the Bridgewater goalie, giving Hahndorf their first goal. Carter Hartley in goals saved many strong attempts, and holding Bridgewater scoreless at the half time whistle.

During the second half Angus Clifton’s determination and never give up skill work kept many attacks from Bridgewater from being converted.  The great trio team work, of Paddy Coffey, Samuel Gardener and Fernando Palma tirelessly kept running the ball into the Hahndorf forward line, as Brooklyn Rohde and Carter were able to push the ball forward on many occasions. 

Michael positioned in goal was kept busy with the ever persistent Bridgwater forward line and was able to level the match just before full time.

Both teams played with great spirit, fun and teamwork, providing the supporters with a great game to watch.
