Traditional rivals converged in Bridgewater for a blockbuster under 8s encounter in perfect conditions.

It was the first game in the enclave for a number of years and both teams had a steely look about the clash ahead.

The younger Bridgewater side were immediately under pressure from a well organised Hahndorf outfit.

Goals flowed and Hahndorf were in no mood for slowing down. But, like most weeks, Bridgewater despite being younger and slighter, showed some resilience of their own with James in goal leading the counter.

Locklyn had a bustling run and a ripper shot to no avail while Hudson continued to improve and Patrick fought like a terrier with a lost ball.

The second half was a much more even contest as Ned took up goals for Bridgewater.

Hahndorf continued to flex their muscle and scored a few more as the bigger Magpies look to take Bridgewater to school on a Saturday.

Finley was having none of it as he stormed into the Hahndorf defence but was unlucky with his shot.

In the end Hahndorf came away with a satisfied appetite while for the young Bridgewater outfit the journey and improvement continues as they look forward to some growth spurts and taking on their cross-freeway rival next season.
