Woodside Gold met Stirling Blue at Woodside on Saturday July 29 in cold but clear conditions.

With four losses and a draw from the first five games of the season, Gold's predominently team of first year players have been steadily improving. This improvement was clearly on show on Saturday as they dominated the Stirling Blue team. Right from the first kick-off Gold scored a goal. Throughout the match Stirling struggled to even get the ball into their attacking half with Gold's defences now understanding what their role is while the midfield and attackers are passing the ball around with confidence.

Every Gold player has improved dramatically while Stirling Blue resembled the Gold team in their first match earlier this season. A highlight for Stirling was an excellent run into attack by one of their girls which was thwarted on the last line by Gold. Stirling just had no answer as Gold's goal-fest continued resulting in Gold's emphatic third win-in-a-row.
