Match report

The weather was kind to both spectators and players alike and a nice pitch to play on.

Hahndorf had a substitute coach, Scott Fairly and new players which created subs on the bench. Hanhdorf anticipated  a tough match ahead. 

The match started out ferociously with Torrens Valley scoring in the first minute of the game. Goal scored by Grace Quane. Hahndorf goalie, Charlotte Fairley, working hard to stop further attempts.

Hahndorf’s new players Zara and Luciann Tinsley-Smith, showing some expert skills against friendly rivals Torrens Valley.  Torrens Valley Clare Levy scored their second goal at the 17 minute mark. Another 10 minutes of strong play from both sides saw Torrens Valley score again, this time at the 27 minute mark.  Jamie-Lee Strauss finding the back of the net.

After a half time pep talk, Hahndorf found strength to play a tougher game in the second half with many girls standing stronger against their players. Defence was strengthened with Amber Klose, Z Tinsley-Smith and Charlotte Fairley coming out of goals. Hahndorf held strong until the 22nd minute mark where Torren’s Valley’s Strauss, once again scoring.

It looked like the game was done but in the last minutes, a goal attempt by Torren’s Valley’s Emily Tziros met with Hahndorf Goal keeper Morenike Kelly, with the ball deflected off fingers and back into the goal. Final scoreline of 5-0 didn't represent the strength of the competitive play by both teams.
