Hahndorf U9s played Mt Barker Red this week at Mt Barker Summit.

The Hahndorf midfield and forward group locked the ball in Mt Barkers defensive zone for most of the first half. Jasper Christou showed enthusiasm and skill weaving the ball around with great energy. Carter Hartley presented well up front giving some good options for the ball going forward. 

The Hahndorf defence in  Nic Moran, Jak Skinner and Josh Blain had any Mt Barker attack covered sending the ball forward rapidly and precisely, while Danny Morgan had little to do in Goals but adequately covered any ball coming in.

The Mt Barker defenders had their work cut out and were up to the challenge not allowing many opportunities for shots on goal.

The second half opened up a little and there were a few shots on goal from both teams.

Levi Neumann had some great composure with the ball as with the first half drawing in opposition players and making lots of ground. Mason Saywell locked down the wing and midfield sending Hahndorf forward repeatedly with some precision passing.

Harrison Whitehead was busy in the midfield and up forwardthrough the game making valuable contributions.

Well done to both teams who defended really well to see out a scoreless game played in great spirit and sportsmanship.
