​Hahndorf SC vs. Torrens Valley SC

Hahndorf SC travelled to Birdwood to play Torrens Valley SC on a fine sunny winters day. Hahndorf surprised Torrens Valley by coming out strong and dominating the play. Midfielders James Austin, Gabe Aylen, Julian Hack, Orland Rettig and Hamish Robinson kept the ball moving forward. Attackers Harry Williams and Stefan Panich had several shots at goal. Then in the 12th minute Hack scored the first goal of the match. Torrens Valley fought back and applied a lot of pressure to the Hahndorf defence of Elwin Aylen, Damon Martin and Will Whiting. Hahndorf goalkeeper Tom Boekel made some spectacular saves to deny Torrens Valley any goals. Hahndorf brought on fresh legs with Matthew Knight and Angus McCrone who strengthened the midfield. The Hahndorf defence held strong until the 20th minute when Torrens Valley broke through the defence and scored their first goal. Play continued with both teams fighting strong and fair for the ball. Torrens valley scored twice more before half time to take the lead. 
After the break Torrens Valley scored a quick goal. Then Hahndorf dug deep and kept the opposition at bay for the next 10 minutes. Hahndorf boys were covering a lot of ground to keep up with the fast Torrens Valley midfielders and attackers and by the 50th minute they were running out of legs.. The hot weather and the hard running left Hahndorf too exhausted to keep up the fight and Torrens Valley scored several more goals to win the game.
