Match report

It was a tough game in even tougher conditions, with icy wind and torrential rain that seemed to come from Antarctica, between Strath White and Stirling Districts.

It was a slow start to the game with Stirling providing some tough competition. Layla Frahn from Strath White was first to take a shot for goal but missed her target. Soon after, Bonnie Clothier charged down the wing to score the first goal of the game! Stirling were super strong in their defence which some back and forth play between the two teams. 14 minutes after the game began Layla Frahn takes her second shot at goal but again it eludes her. Stirling are quick with a come back and try to score, but the ball goes wide, a miss. Maddie Clothier shines in defence, never letting a ball through. If only the sun would shine in the sky! The icy wind and rain continues to test the resilience of both players and spectators.

Bonnie Clothier passes to Leah Davis who tries her luck for a goal without success. Brooklyn Rigney steps up and scores immediately afterwards bringing the score to 2 - 0. Stirling defence are continuing to test Strathalbyn when Layla breaks through and scores her first goal of the game! In response Stirling soon have the ball and take another shot at goal. Matilda Mundy foils their plan with an impressive save. Strathalbyn pass with accuracy and are hungry for more. Layla Frahn takes another shot at goal but the Stirling goal keeper blocks her attempt. Strathalbyn's newest player Hannah Porter defends the ongoing attack from the Stirling girls. Bonnie Clothier uses her fancy footwork to score her second goal for the day!

The second half shows no improvement on the weather front, with the rain and wind continuing to test both sides. Stirling continue to intercept the ball but a powerful kick from Brooklyn Rigney up the centre of the field get things moving in Strath's favour again. They once again demonstrate some excellent passing between Layla, Bonnie and Brooklyn. Leah Davis gets another opportunity to score but misses. Strathalbyn have several more unlucky attempts at goal, including a great save by the Stirling goal keeper on the tail end of a Bonnie rocket! Stirling are relentless in their attack with a goal in their sights. Matilda Mundy steps up with another great save, leaving Stirling still with no points. Layla pushes through the Stirling defence with speed and scores her second goal. There is a little shoving between the players and Stirling persevere with their attack. They bring the ball  into the "danger zone" and Brooklyn sends it back with her trademark kick. Despite the tough opposition Layla Frahn seizes another opportunity and sneaks her third goal past the keeper, brining the final score to 6 - 0. This was a challenging game with both sides playing well. The rain could not dampen the spirits of the players.
