Following a minutes silence to remember Leif Justham the game commenced with SDFC making the early running and keeping the Mount Barker keeper busy on multiple occasions but none truly threatening. Mt Barker in counterattack ran in one goal and the momentum shifted to be more evenly balanced. The second half saw Mt Barker maintain their composure and remain organised to run in a further three good goals. The SDFC midfield and attack re-established composure late in the second half and despite some good attacks down the left flank were only able to bank a further goal leaving Mt Barker with a good win of 4-2 at the final whistle.
