Match report

Nice start to the day with the sun beaming onto the home ground, with Hahndorf playing Stirling at home. The game started quickly with Hahndorf receiving a corner within the first play of the day, Stirling retrieved it and immediately got it down to their end with a sharp shot into goals. It was clear Stirling had played together for a while, creating space and lots of opportunities to score. Charlie Kirkpatrick did brilliantly as goalie and was tested throughout the first half, though he stood strong, even diving onto the ball when required. Eric Jager in the backline had some strong tackles off the ball and Art provided some great commentary down the field whilst also adding pressure onto the ball. Kealan Atkinson brought the ball down the pitch several times, creating lots of opportunities up front.

The second half Hahndorf did their best to bounce back from a well-oiled Stirling team, Brooklyn Karamanov was exceptional, weaving his way past Stirling players, trying to create opportunities to score. His first attempt, saw him hitting the bar with the crowd singing out a collective oooohhhhh! Though it wasn’t long before he got his first shot in, creating something from nothing and the crowd going wild. Carter Karamanov was so strong in defense all day, creating block after block and putting his body on the line, getting up immediately after tackles and never giving up. Jager similarly to Kirkpatrick did so well in goalie in the second half, diving, side crossing and trying his best to stop Stirling strikes. Hahndorf tried all day and played a great team game from start to finish.
