Match report

Show Down 1 for the season, the sledging started early and the competitive nature of two same side teams going at it. Woodside red came out firing early in the game scoreing two quick goals and it was obvious that the blue team was feeling the mental pressure. This quick start finally woke up the blue team and they began a battle. Charlie Knipe played what I think was the best game of her season making smart play passing it cleanly and sharing the play. Max Armstrong mad some great tackles late in the second quarter, Samuel was trying his absolute hardest to take on Lucky number 7 (Rowan (Myers Brother) )from the red team who turns out is an absolute dynamite little player and Mitchell Beekman made a diving save to his left keeping the blue team in the hunt. it was half time and the red team were up three Zip. frazer gave some profound words at half time showing how impressed he was with the work ethic of the team on a warm winters day.

Second half there was a change in the goals for the blue team Samuel Colla and he didn't disapoint saving a goal leaping to the cross bar and tapping Daniel Constables ball just over the top. the crowd cheered from both sides as it was a real show stopper. Pressure mounted through out this half and the blue team managed to keep the red team to 4-0 in the end defeated bat what a contest. More headers than all season combined and specky saves and constant pressure from both sides. Well done to the red team and fantastic persistance from the blue team. only one shot on goal difference from both sides that is how close it really was.
