On July 22 the Woodside Gold team travelled to Summit to play Mount Barker White. In brilliant sunshine but with the usual cold wind blowing, the Gold team began well, pushing forward at any chance. Stefan Sims was the first to score as Gold dominated early play.

The ever-improving Gold defences held firm with Charlie Dvorak and Zaion Lorefice sending all balls back into the Gold's half. Jack Hogan, Logan Pielago and Mason Payne were challenging the White players and winning the ball back in midfield for Gold who were then streaming into attack to shoot. 

The second half was much the same as the first with Gold holding sway all over the pitch. After scoring two goals in the first half Toby Smith went in goals but his services were not needed. Jo Smith traded goalkeeping duties and set up many shooting opportunities for his teammates. With some excellent control and cool finishing Toby Riemann notched his first hat-trick in a memorable match for this unassuming, versatile player.

Yet again it was a supurb Gold team effort with every player contributing. With improved defensive skills and seven of the 10 now having scored, Gold are a far cry from the unwieldy group of boys they were in the first match.
