Woodside U15 Red hosted Hahndorf U15 in an exciting game to start the season.
The Hahndorf mid-field players Henri Bjordal, Toby Perkins, Damon Martin and Jacob Neumann were busy in the opening few minutes of the game until play settled and the momentum of the game got underway. Hahndorf played well as a team giving striker Stefan Panich opportunities towards the goal along with Neumann and Martin but they couldn't quite find the back of the net despite lots of very near misses. Hahndorf defenders Will Whiting, Elwin Aylen and Alexander Romaldi held a strong defence line giving Woodside limited opportunities to score and when they did Hahndorf goalie Tom Boekel was there to stop the ball. In the closing minutes of the first half Hahndorf slipped with an own goal putting the Reds on the scoreboard.
Hahndorf continued great team play throughout the second half of the game. Woodside had further attempts at the net but Hahndorf's Boekel was taking some spectacular saves . The goal eventually came for Hahndorf, from Neumann to even the score for a Draw as the final result.
