Torrens Valley hosted Hahndorf, the U14's were full of enthusiasm for the first game of the season. Plenty of action occurred in the midfield during the opening minutes of the game, Hahndorf midfielders Julian Hack, William Whiting, Gabe Aylen and Stefan Panich keeping the ball moving but it didn't take long before Torren's strikers broke through Hahndorf's defence line of Matthew Knight, Damon Martin, Konrad Michael and Hamish Robinson and scored the first goal. Torrens Valley kept the momentum going, pushing forward through the midfield and keeping the Hahndorf defence line fighting for possession of the ball. Hahndorf had a couple of earlier attempts towards the net in the first half of the game but Torrens were able to quickly turn the play back in their favour and by half time had 6 goals on the scoreboard. The second half commenced with two early goals by Torrens Valley but Hahndorf continued to work hard as a team and strikers James Austin and Harry Williams had some further shots at the goal but unfortunately didn't find the back of the net. Hahndorf goalie Tom Boekel had some great saves throughout the game and the final score of 11-0 didn't reflect the true spirit of the game which was well played by both teams.
