What is your history with football?

None. Son, Asher Gaff who plays U14 and Reps.

What is your favourite football moment?

Ummm ... I'm like the non-sportiest person you'll ever meet. I still don't know the rules! Perhaps skip this question.

What is your favourite AHJSA moment?

Port Pirie carnival. Watching the team on their final match from the grandstand on an incredible pitch. We didn't win ... but the chance for the kids to play in that kind of environment was a memory they won't soon forget. Although they probably remember the not winning bit more than me.

What does being involved in the AHJSA mean to you?

Ok, this one is easier. I'm a HUGE fan of the reps program. Club football is great fun, but Reps has brought Asher a whole new level of confidence and skill. He has made friends from all across the Hills, been given the chance to improve and lead and loves feeling a part of the soccer community in the Hills. I watch the kids play, especially as they get older and it's such a massive benefit to their mental and physical health to get out there with like-minded players, strive and achieve goals (not just the soccer kind!) and prepare for carnivals. It's really important to me that the kids who need something more than Saturday matches, get a chance in a program that lifts them up and gives them pride and community. I feel that as a parent, even one who isn't a mad soccer-Mum, if we can all do a little volunteering in a role, big or small, as much as we can, then our community thrives.
